Max Dowman Makes Historic Premier League Debut at 15

Arsenal prospect Max Dowman made his senior debut in style during Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leeds United, coming off the bench to become one of the youngest players in top-flight history.

Aged just 15 years and 235 days, Dowman became the second-youngest debutant for both Arsenal and the Premier League, with only Ethan Nwaneri ahead of him — Nwaneri was 15 years and 181 days old when he featured against Brentford in September 2022.

Dowman is now just the third player in Premier League history to feature in a match before turning 16.

Introduced in the 64th minute for Noni Madueke, the teenage midfielder made an immediate impact. His lively performance included a dazzling solo run and two ambitious efforts from distance, underlining the promise that has made him one of the most talked-about youngsters at the club.

In stoppage time, Dowman drew a foul from Anton Stach inside the box, earning Arsenal a late penalty. Viktor Gyökeres stepped up to convert, sealing his brace and capping off a commanding 5-0 victory for the Gunners.

With injuries sustained to Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard, there will likely be more opportunities for Dowman in the coming weeks.
